2013 Traverse to Debut at NY Auto Show

2013 Chevy Traverse

Looking ahead for Chevy

The crossover SUV market is a very competitive car segment, and since 2008 the Traverse has led the way for car giant Chevrolet. Feeling that it was time for a redesign, Chevy announced its plans to debut the brand new 2013 Chevy Traverse at this year's NY Auto Show . This new vehicle looks to improve on the solid foundation of high quality that the Traverse has already created, and this new redesigned vehicle is sure to be one of the best new car deals of the year.

What to expect

It appears that the biggest improvements coming with the redesign will be the interior and exterior styling, along with the general quality of the vehicle. Chevy is definitely trying to put the 2013 Traverse in the minds of people looking for the best new car deals. The old unwelcoming interior is replaced by a much more luxurious and stylish look, with soft touch material which is becoming very popular. This redesign will also give the Traverse an industry first front center airbag, designed to deploy between the driver and front passenger to provide even more protection.

With gas mileage becoming one of the primary selling points on any vehicle purchase, many people are hoping that this new Traverse will up the ante as far as fuel economy goes. Most new vehicles coming these days do improve their mpg, so it is not that unrealistic to hope for it. The 2012 Chevy Traverse got 17 city / 24 hwy mpg.

The 2013 Chevy Traverse is expected to have similar features as the 2013 GMC Acadia, which was displayed at the Chicago Auto Show. After all, these GM SUVs are practically brothers, sharing the GM Lambda platform. The Acadia had a new innovative infotainment system, complete with touch screen capabilities. The Traverse is expected to keep the same powertrain, which was a six speed automatic with a v6 engine, and also retain its 2WD or 4WD options.

Last year Chevy sold over 100,000 models of the 2012 Chevy Traverse, which is pretty impressive. You get a very high quality SUV crossover at a competitive price. The 2013 Chevy Traverse is expected to be one of the new cars for under $30000, just like the previous models were. There is a lot of buzz surrounding this new vehicle, and we will be sure to bring you all the new details leading up to its unveiling at the New York Auto Show.
