2013 Chevrolet Spark Review

Review of the 2013 Chevrolet Spark

Overview

Chevrolet has brought us something that is quite foreign looking, and is in fact part of their foreign line up. This is the Chevrolet spark available soon in a plug in version, the spark is a mini car with quite a bit of surprises. While some may not enjoy it but the 2013 Chevrolet Spark is quite noticeable with it's style and the color choices available.

You can really and easily stand out in one of these, not quite the exact look as Scion IQ or Smart ForTwo. With a more normal Chevrolet front end with a well rounded back it literally looks like a shortened SUV. Being a 5 door hatch back, the Spark packs some serious top notch in car tech that you wouldn't expect from this class of vehicle.

With a huge emphasis put on standing out Chevy has delivered on this experience. This car gives a great experience and stands on it's own as a whole with plenty of optional car technology and conveniences. While it is still in the class of car as a "mini" the front interior offers a sufficient amount of room, for both driver and passenger. It is deceptively 'roomy' inside this mini, and is worth a look for city driving and is a perfect new car for someone looking to buy an affordable vehicle.

2013 Chevrolet Spark
Starting MSRP Max City / Hwy MPG
$12,995 28 / 37
Pros Cons
Deceptively Room Shaky at Highway Speeds
Surprising good acceleration Not the best Highway Vehicle
Great Fuel Economy
Plenty of style and unique

2013 Chevrolet Spark Trims
Trims

Starting out the Chevy Spark won't break your budget at all with the base trim starting at $12,185 MSRP it is easy to finance this car cheaply. A major plus to this class is the affordability of these vehicles. With the ability to go from the manual to automatic transmission it is a fun little drive.

As you ramp up in the trims the price doesn't jump as drastically as one would think. Considering the 'top trim' level is $16,820 on par with most of it's competitors and for that price point you get a high tech upgrade. However some may say at this price you might preffer a bigger normal mid-sized sedan, but with a 32 city / 38 hwy fuel economy it is hard to pass on this mini.

2013 Chevrolet Spark Performance
Performance

Performance across the board stays largely the same, the car drives and feels like a small sized car, but can get shaky during highway speeds. This car is clearly built for more city driving in mind, as the highway experience can rattle some drivers. Also many have taken notice in the high 'buzz' sound of the engine at higher speeds.

Under the hood is a 1.2L V4 delivering 85 horsepower with variable valve timing, used to boost fuel economy. As stated it can be purchased with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic. This engine is built to be economical, affordable, and deliver you the performance you need for your daily drives.

2013 Chevrolet Spark Interior
Interior / Exterior

It was stated before, but the spark can surprise many with it's interior. Despite being a mini it is quite comfortable on the inside, with plenty of upgradeable technology to get anyone excited. Offering luxury class tech inside the vehicle, on-top of it's low price tag to get to this luxury style inside is surprise.

The style of the spark stays consistent both inside and out of the vehicle. You can get a standard dash experience you'd expect from Chevy to their luxury class in car technology with the outside staying just as stylish. The outside color gets mixed inside throughout the dash, doors, and the seating providing a true style of its own.

2013 Chevrolet Spark Safety
Safety

The spark comes packed with safety features that are standard for safer driving, but plenty of air bags to provide protection inside the car. With a great overall safety rating, some of the top tier tech, and plenty of features to add to your experience it is hard not to look at the Spark.

It stands on it's own and delivers what you'd want or expect in a car for safety providing you with 10 airbags, and OnStar. Keeping both you and your cargo safe in the event of any mishaps on the road.

Chevrolet Equinox 2013 Review

March 15, 2013

The 2013 Chevrolet Equinox hasn't changed too much from its 2012 predecessor. With changes happening mostly inside with it's infotainment systems being updated a bit. Things like a USB input for devices like iPod or Zune. Also the addition turn-by-turn navigation and the ability to download directions to the car via OnStar, the changes aren't much.
