Finding better deals
Depending on a number of different factors, there are times when you can get an especially low price when you're buying a car. When you are looking for new or used
cars for sale, spotting these deals can save you a lot of money.
Some of these factors include simple economic factors like supply and demand. Other times you can get a lower price depending on what the manufacturer's plans for that model are. We will highlight several of the
cheap cars for sale this fall, and explain why they are lower priced.
New car deals
If you're looking to buy a new car, a little research can show you the best cars to check out. When car makers are about to get a
car redesign or cease production on a specific model, the last model year before the big change will typically get bigger rebates, incentives and sales on them.
Depending on your area and other stipulations, you will get different offers. It's important to check with your local dealer to see the deals that you qualify for. You should also do the math to see which car and deal will actually save you the most money.
The
Ford Escape has a highly anticipated redesign in the works for 2013, so that means the 2012 model is priced to move. You can get up to $3,250 cash back, or $1,750 back and 0% financing for up to 60 months on the outgoing 2012 Escape.
The
Kia Forte is also getting a redesign for 2013, which means you can get $1,500 back or 1.9% financing for 36 months on the 2012 Forte.
The
Chevy Avalanche is being discontinued after the 2013 model year, which means both the 2012 and 2013 models will receive price cuts and bigger rebates and incentives. You can get the 2012 Avalanche with $4,500 cash back or 0.9% financing for 60 months.
Here are some other cars getting redesigned for 2013 that you could check out, just to name a few:
Used car deals
Used car sales can be a little trickier to figure out. There are more factors at play here, and one of the biggest is regional supply and demand of that model. When the economy dipped, it caused many people to trade in their new car and find used cars instead.
People also traded in their gas guzzlers for hybrids and small efficient cars, so supply of these vehicles is more limited than usual, which in turn drives the prices up.
The
Honda Fit is a very capable and versatile car. Combined with its low starting price, the Fit gets considerable gas mileage and is more spacious and comfortable than it looks. This is a solid choice for people looking for a cheap used car.
The
Toyota Tacoma has a lot of things going for it as a used vehicle. Stellar reliability as a 4x4 truck, a low starting price, high gas mileage for a truck and high resale value all make the Tacoma a great choice.
