For many new car buyers, satellite radio provided through Sirius XM is a must-have add on. Drivers may be happy to learn that, with the recent spike in new automobile sales, the radio company is anticipating that 2012 will be a good year, according to Forbes Magazine.
Because they provide radio for vehicles, Sirius' growth is tied into the growth reported by new car dealers such as General Motors and Ford. However, used cars also factor into the decision, as buyers will often opt to have satellite radio installed in their previously owned vehicle.
Fortunately for the radio company, Chrysler recently announced that they will give a 3-month Sirius XM subscription to buyers of used automobiles, even if the car wasn't manufactured by Chrysler.
Chrysler appears to be planning a big year as well. USA Today reports that the company will be adding 1,800 jobs at the Belvidere Assembly Plant in 2012. Many of the new workers will help assemble the Dodge Dart. Furthermore, the company recently spend $600 million building a new body shop that takes up 680,000-square-feet. U.S. Representative Don Manzullo of Illinois said that investment will provide security for the future of the plant, according to the news source.
